For Pride Month 2020, I got the opportunity to do a projection on an abandoned prison complex and psychiatric observatory in the Netherlands. The Netherlands is often seen as a very progressive country, but up until 1968 homosexuals that did get detained have sometimes been castrated in an attempt to 'cure their unnatural urges'. As nature always seems to manage to slowly but surely take over abandoned buildings, I hope the ideas of love, freedom & equality will continue to spread & grow over the horrible ideologies based around intolerance and oppression that are still very much around today.
